Bathtime is an important part of a baby’s routine. Apart from the obvious benefits of getting clean, baths can be a great time for bonding, baby massage, relaxation and comfort for your little one.

Baths can also be a great way to break up the day, if you have been ordered to stay indoors for the foreseeable future, for example! Move playtime from the lounge or playroom to the bathroom for a welcome change of scenery for you and your baby.

So, you have run a nice warm, bubbly bath. Your baby is looking at you wondering if its bedtime already, what now?

Splashing is a great way for babies to get used to water and to learn more about their bodies too. Try styling their hair in different ways and showing them in a bath mirror!! A great source of entertainment for toddlers and younger children!

Or how about a sing-song? Use rubber ducks to sing “5 Little Ducks went swimming one day” or how about our super cute pufferfish bath toys to emulate “1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive”. Then line them up on the side of the bath and knock them in one by one as you sing “5 Little Speckled Frogs!” This was a firm favourite when our children were young.

Every baby bath toy you buy from Splash About is made with teething in mind, so you don’t have to worry about babies chomping down on them. This includes Splash Pals, Splash Jacks and the new Pufferfish Bath Toys. They are all made from natural rubber and are free from BPA, Phthalates and other nasty chemicals. They are designed without any holes, so whilst you can’t use them to squirt, you can rest assured there will be no build-up of mould. Happy Days!

After bath time our super soft towelling hooded towels and poncho towels are perfect to keep little ones warm and cosy whilst drying off.

Before you know it, you will have both been occupied for an hour and you can then enjoy after bath snuggles on the sofa with a book and a cup of tea!

Maybe lockdown won’t be so bad after all!!
