Floatsuits
The Floatsuit range from Splash About is designed to hold children in the correct position in the water for learning to swim. By gently tipping children’s shoulders towards the water, these swim aids give children confidence and support on their swimming journey. 16 floats inside the suits provide buoyancy, which can be adjusted as the child becomes more and more confident.
Available as a traditional swimsuit style Floatsuit or a protective Sleeved Floatsuit with extra cover across the neck, shoulders and arms.
Floatsuits FAQs
A Floatsuit is a swimming costume with integrated float bars that can be removed as your child gains confidence in the water. It provides enough buoyancy to support children as they learn swimming strokes and helps position them correctly in the water.
While both provide buoyancy, Floatsuits are designed to assist with learning to swim by promoting a natural swimming position. In contrast, life jackets are intended to keep the wearer afloat with their head above water, regardless of swimming ability. It's important to note that Floatsuits are not a substitute for life jackets and should always be used under adult supervision.
Floatsuits help children maintain a natural swimming position, allowing them to move freely and comfortably as they learn. Armbands provide buoyancy but can be bulky and restrictive. Unlike armbands, the floats within a Floatsuit do not require inflation, eliminating the risk of punctures.
Our Floatsuits are designed for children aged one and over. A child must be able to hold their head up and support their own neck before using a Floatsuit.
