Frequently Asked Questions

Many swim schools recommend or require specific swimwear, particularly for babies and toddlers.

For boys who aren't yet potty trained, this usually includes:

  • A swim nappy or liner
  • A Happy Nappy™ or Happy Nappy™ Wetsuit to form a secure double-layer system
  • Optional thermal swimwear for added warmth

For potty-trained boys:

  • Swim shorts, jammers or a swimsuit
  • Optional rash top or thermal layer depending on pool temperature

Our swimwear meets these requirements and keeps children comfortable and confident in the water.

Rinse pieces in fresh water after each use to remove chlorine and saltwater. This helps maintain the fabric's colours and protective qualities.

Air drying works best for preserving the UPF rating and shape of the garments. Avoid tumble drying as this can affect the fabric's protective properties over time. If you need to machine wash occasionally, use 30°C and non-biological detergent.

UPF50+ protection is beneficial for any outdoor swimming activity where UV exposure occurs. Our boys' swimwear provides excellent sun protection on covered areas. For indoor pools, the quick-drying, chlorine-resistant fabric still offers comfort and durability benefits.

Swim shorts are ideal for general swimming and lessons. They offer freedom of movement and quick-drying comfort. Jammers provide a closer fit and are often preferred for competitive swimming or for children who require leak protection. Both styles work well with rash vests.

We size our boys' swimwear by age as a guide. Swim shorts are available for children aged 1–12 years, and rash vests are available for children up to 7 years. We recommend using our size guide for the best fit, particularly for Happy Nappy™ products, where measurements around the waist and thighs ensure proper leak protection.
